Independence Day Parade & Fireworks

Enjoy small-town America at its best this 4th of July in historic downtown Stanardsville.  The free, family-friendly celebration begins with a festive parade running down Main Street and followed by a community festival spanning several blocks.  The festival includes live music and entertainers, bounce attractions and games for the kids, a car show, great food and craft vendors, 3 Notch’d Brewing Company Beer Garden, the 2nd Annual Water Balloon Battle of Stanardsville, period re-enactors, live cannon battery, and much more!  There is truly something for every member of the family to enjoy!   NEW for 2016, the first ever community fireworks display sponsored by Capitol Sheds, Greene Chamber of Commerce and Town of Stanardsville.  This free 20- to 25-minute display will follow an evening of great music on the Stanardsville Community Stage sponsored by 84 Lumber.  The fireworks will begin a half-hour after sunset.   Raffle tickets are now available for a 2016 Toyota Camry sponsored by Brown Toyota of Charlottesville.  Only 350 tickets have been printed and are available for a tax-deductible donation of $100 per ticket.  Winner to be drawn at the Court House after the ringing of the bells on July 4th.  All proceeds will be used to fund this great community event.  Raffle tickets are available at the Stanardsville branch of United Bank, by contacting a member of the Stanardsville Independence Day Committee, by emailing thestanardsvilleparade@gmail.com or by messaging through the Greene County 4th of July Celebration Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/GC4thofJulyFestivities/
